Brother I applaud you for posting this . We do need to remember where and how far we have come. I think its also very important to teach our children about this because it seems to just be a faint memory to our people now
Powerful...like it or not, this was part of our history...people should be educated so that it will not repeat. A picture says a thousand words and then some.
Our elders say, "you must never forget your past because it is what molds your future". I know society loves to say this country was founded on democracy, blah blah blah, but we all know that this country was founded on the blood of our black and red brothers and sisters, greed, hatred, murder, raping of the beautiful women and raping of our mother earth. History serves as a reminder of how strong and resilient people we are...we never should become like the oppressors.
Sad thing is so many people will rather forget then remember.Because it's such an ugly truth and some people want to separate there self from this reality.I say let us always remember because the moment we forget is the moment you end up back where you started.It's good to remember history that's the only way it want continue to repeat itself.I remember when I was a kid and so angry about it and my mom asked me "Now what are you going to do about it?,stay angry and do nothing or make something of yourself"
