damn, damn, damn

I've been tagged so I will play albeit I don’t want to. Miss Mika, in the immortal words of Florida Evans of GOOD TIMES “damn, damn, damn.” Marcus, you warned me.

here are the rules:1. link the person who tagged you.2. mention the rules in your blog…3. tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours4. tag 6 following bloggers by linking them. leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged

1] combined SAT 690 but they say my IQ 185 go figure and I Never wanted to go to college

2] member of the first all black high school golf team to go to city championships in Memphis

3] read and write music, got own recording studio and more than 7000 songs since 1985 recorded and in mp3 form

4] I am a collector: I collect coins, stamps, comic books, Baseball cards. Beer cans, African Art (preferable carvings by the Dogon) ad Wine (preferably S. African)

5] been stabbed or cut, knives and ice picks 7 times (4 in one episode).

6] I love planting flowers and feel a house aint right w/o fresh cut flowers in as many rooms as possible

So there you have it. Guess my vaccine doesn’t work. I will post something substantive latter on tonight

City Councilman Kwanza Hall stopped by my shop to welcome me - great sign

  1. Did you mean a 1690 SAT score? I did some research and found that currently the highest is 800 in each section for a top score of 2400, but I know the high score was lower than that back in the day because anything in the 1200 range in 1985 was exceptional. I did well enough to get some scholarships with a 920 -- my Upward Bound Counselor tried to make me take it over and although I studied, I just didn't have the energy the day of the retake so I blew it off.

  2. no Rich - 690 (combined)

  3. Thank you so much for playing Mr. Stephens, I appreciate it :)

I was wondering the same thing @ a 690 SAT score combined. I thought that was a typo. That is proof that test don't always prove anything.

7 times? With an ice pick? WTH??

So you have a green thumb, huh? I feel the same way about having life in a house. Plants and flowers accentuate the house for me, so I feel ya.

  4. yea, no physics, chemistry, bio or history on sat, no Satre or hegel, math with pictures no problem - thank good for vocab or wouldnt have got that

  5. I had a 1250 combined (back when the highest was 1600) and I'm a singer. You got a 690 and you're a scientist. Looks like the tests don't really measure aptitude, huh?

I'm with you on the flowers. I love having fresh flowers throughout the house!

  27. miss mocha = welcome back, i was worried, though the taliban got u, how u been sista

  28. 690? Now that's just deliberate disinterest on your part. Wasn't it 400 points that you got automatically for just showing up?

My parents would have been still serving time for the beating they would have given me for coming home with a score like that.

Although I've always believed the SAT's were biased in a subtle way against people who didn't follow the company line.

  29. Brotha T, that's a sweet picture bro! I truly do not think I will be doing anymore tags, 'cause they are annoying as heck; I think the last time around was my last one.

Anyway, I found that we share in an interest in collecting things. I took collect comic books and Incredible Hulk memorabilia including t-shirts and action figures. I dig nice landscaping as well; it's one of the things I really get into as an architectural professional whom has to be the concerned about landscaping as well.

  30. much success on the business venture. i'll encourage people i know with dogs in the a to roll through.

  31. Hmm, doesn't your tag sound super familiar; like I've read that before... But I don't blame you, I got tagged twice this week. Tagging fever is upon us.

And who don't you know in ATL. I'm sure your store will be a success.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Damn, Damn, DAMN is right!!! But hey at least it gave me a post for today!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm loving your comment about the cut flowers in as many rooms as possible. *smile* I've been trying to fight the weeds in my garden, so the herbs will find their way through. It's great to see the fresh majoram and oregano, lemon balm, chives and wild garlic coming back up. I'm having mixed feelings about the mint, though, cause it's trying to do a vini, vidi, vici on all the beds around it.

Seriously, though, I couldn't even remember what my SAT/ACT scores were, so I went back to look. In 10th grade in 1973 I got 1030 (580/verbal + 450/math). The copy is so bad I can't even see what I scored in 1974, though. hmmm. I do know I scored a perfect 800 in German on my ACT, but only got 610 and 680 on English and Literature respectively.

Marcus - i did my last one yesterday. and did u know i wanted to grow up to be Dr. Victor VonDoom lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. kayellejaye - i can do that im down, my verbena is looking real good in the yard

dn lee - central was black and white, i went to Hamilton

  38. Hmm, My question to you doc would be why do u feel that your brushes with "near death" experiences suffice as pertinent information?

Furthermore, 690 on your SAT? I acheived a 1300, and failed the AP pyshcholgy course that I decided to take senior year in high school but scored the highest mark in the school on the nationally adminstered AP psych exam which left my prof no choice but to give me an "A" ( I didnt attend his course, I had senior-itis)

Gardening is very soothing tho. I have somewhat of a green thumb my being from Greesboro/Mcleansville North Carolina.
