thought amnesty (2.19.09)

Ok don't have to think today just a few pics. But first:

Point of order: 1] someone explain to me how we can get upset over a cartoon talking about stimulus bill, using a dead monkey, but we aint read bill cartoon is mocking?

2] Shouts out to Obama, for taking some suggestions I made last year: (A)

  • For the Banks and wall street: Mandate they use the money to erase the balance of all outstanding student loans. This would be one way to foster consumer spending.
  • As opposed to buying toxic assets and injecting capital, for banks, next time you may consider really attempting to stop home foreclosure rates by buying 35% of are the mortgages in America. You don’t have to purchase the entire mortgage for that will only assist 4 to 5 million of the 50 million across the country. This would make payments manageable, improve equity in said homes. And please just don’t use Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; make them for all home lenders. All one would need is a standard agreement (as the Treasury made with Banks) for people to apply. This would be the best foreclosure mitigation approach from my view.
3] We had a hail storm - enjoy (pic on the farm)

  6. Wuts good kinfolk?

I'm feeling that first question like a mugg. I think it speaks volumes as to just how in tune we are with the shit that holds our lives in balance as opposed to the trivial. You know, shit like monkeys getting shot by the cops?

Yeah UK Government announced its bankruptcy...and our banks used their bailout to pay for bonuses! KMT...I don't see our student loans getting pain anytime soon.

  11. Wow your surroundings-sans hail of course, look quite peaceful-great photo opportunities abound for me.

PS I've been giving some serious thought to your coffee book table suggestion...thanks!

  12. Hey Torrence,

It seems OT, but it's really not given the 'outrage' over the monkey-comic...

I'd like to get your thoughts on Holder's speech.

  13. hail in Georgia huh....ooooooh..."I'm scared" says the Chitown vet...

that bill is hella long...I gleamed over it sum..I still don't see how that (not reading the bill) should make someone feel as though he or she cannot comment on that apparent and obvious racism of the cartoon...that's really not a plausible argument, Do the readers of the bill have the right to be racist because Black's haven't read it?

I see where you're coming from, it's something to think about...but I think that many people who have had to experience racism in this country have yet to feel truly involved in the political process until recently...

  14. Love the house...! I haven't seen hail since I was a kid. It only happened once in L.A.

  15. #3 I've forgotten who said it earlier, but I haven't seen hail sionce I was 10 too. Also, I don't think I've seen hail that size before. I would have to hide under the bed or table while that was going on.

#1 The insult is not about the Stimulus Bill but that it was written by a monkey and black people are routinely reffered to as monkeys in general. That some people could associate killing a chimp with killing a man responsible for the bill makes it provocative.

2# I'm taking that thought amnesty.

cause u see it for what it is, if he had a noose around its neck then i'd be upset. And for Holder, he telling the truth. cowards is what folks who hid and ignore are.

    Cheron L. Hall
LOL. but if it wasnt published, are u saying same thoughts would not be present. we will spend more time on NYC cartoon instead of helping young kids stop getting hiv, going to [prision, and learning 2 read, easier for us to fus, point fingers and blame than to put in work and act - sad aint it folk Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win. Sun Tzu

    KevinsTeeTee
thank u thats only half of it - the house

    Curious
man should have seen it in person; i saw it as holes through the stim bill and not obama, he aint write it and both events happened on same day (parody); and it is suggested not explict on student loans and im with u - LOL at hidding under table

#1 The insult is not about the Stimulus Bill but that it was written by a monkey and black people are routinely reffered to as monkeys in general. That some people could associate killing a chimp with killing a man responsible for the bill makes it provocative.

2# I'm taking that thought amnesty.

  19. had little tiny hail yesterday ,, but nothing like this!!! wow!!!1

  20. Good golly! Hail storms are a seasonal occurance up around these parts but it's usually nothing like that - what y'all got was of biblical proportion! Somebody liable to have gotten knocked the hell out. Glad you and the children are safe.

  21. People not reading the bill or not having a clear understanding of the bill has NOTHING to do with that cartoon being blatantly racist and two conversations don't even go together.

    ReplyDelete
  22. T,

I am in the process of reading the bill.

I am not in the mood to discuss the cartoon tonight. The explination after the blow up pissed me off more than the cartoon did. But that is a discussion for another time.

Since I live in the O-State and it is currently snowing-I like your pictures but I see hail frequently enough during winter to be tired of it.
(Actually we get hail year round if the conditions are right).

Since you live in the south, I know that this was a major weather event.

By the way, it is in the teens here and the wind is blowing at 24MPH.

  23. Man I hope your car didn't get damaged by all that hail! That's crazy....

  24. Like the farm and hope the hail didn't do any damage.

  25. 1]cartoon's easier to 'read'
    w/republicans doubting;)
    democrats' holding their breathe
    and racists split,
their's something in the 'toon for everyone

2]it's a good year, enough oil to last 'til spring

...I like giving the kids with a bit more education going for them, a leg up... just makes sense

    3] Place is beautiful, D
    Hope your ride's no worse for the weather;

  26. Wow.... those are some big-ass hailstones! :O

We only get the wimps.. you know, where you can't really figure out whether it was snow or hailstones....

    Greetings from the netherlands!

  27. That's pretty amazing. I didn't know raindrops could get that big. :-D Seriously though, I've never seen any that big. I'd hate to get pelted with the kind you had. That's some serious hail.
