next stop - martial law

Alright Jones, recess is over, but Re-cess-is-on, so fuc the dumb shit. And before I go any further, would like to formally request that all bich azz ni double G a’s leave the room. I will wait. Now as you may have concoursed, I take pride in rumination and critical thought – that is to say beyond thought just to think. Meaning I'm not a pedantic. Nor have I ever considered myself to be a prognosticator, nor have I ever had the desire to tell some one that they would fuc they momma and kill they daddy as the Sooth Sayer did informed Oedipus in Oedipus Rex. Although I did attempt in vain for the past 16 months to acquaint readers with the anticipated collapse of the US financial sector, and maybe even the government. Now I got one more for you in two words - martial law.

Martial law has been defined as: military rule that is imposed on a civilian population when the civil authorities cannot maintain law and order, as during an emergency. If such occurs, based on my knowledge of some past Executive Orders, we can expect that: all communications media will be seized by the Federal Government including radio, TV, newspapers, telephones, and the internet. Meaning no More making of the band or Reality TV (not even twitter), for they will be under federal control. Hence, the First Amendment will be suspended indefinitely (Executive Order 10995). Executive Order 11000 states that all civilians can be used for work under federal supervision. Executive Orders 10998 and 10999 state that all food resources, farms and farm equipment will be seized and that all forms of transportation will go into government control.

Yes martial law can be declared even if the STOCK MARKET crashes. Now true, martial law aint exactly mentioned in the Constitution, but the suspension of habeas corpus is in Article 1, Section 9, and the activation of the militia in time of rebellion or invasion is in Article 1, Section 8. Article 1, Section 9 states, "The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it." Habeas corpus basically says that a person may not be held by the government without a valid reason for being held.

Add to that the facts that the Feds got a little practice in 2005 during Hurricane Katrina after it hit New Orleans. Folk here also know that Beginning in 1999, the government negotiated into a series of single-bid contracts ($385 million) with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed locations INSIDE the United States. The KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME.

If one of these centers/sites/camps aint been built around your area, no fear, they will likely use the Post Office. I mean next time you go to the Post Office (in pic) look in the back and see if they got fencing with barbed wire on top that can be locked and gated – LMBAO. Plus we already know (at least I do) that the A much discussed and circulated report, the Pentagon's Civilian Inmate Labor Program, was updated for developing a "template for developing agreements" between the Army and corrections facilities for the use of civilian inmate labor on Army installations." And to top it off, the current President, signed into law Public Law 109-364, or the "John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007" (H.R.5122) (2) on October 17th, 2006, in a private Oval Office ceremony, allows the President to declare a "public emergency" and station troops anywhere in America and take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of the governor or local authorities, in order to "suppress public disorder."

Now I aint trying to scare nobody, but as I said in the first paragraph, I take pride in rumination and critical thought. So yawl enjoy the debate, I aint watching. I mean like Obama but he is disappointing and cant see the forest for the trees – meaning, he cant see that no matter what he does, we in this economic mess for the next ten years at a minimum. And McCain, he has PTSD. Have read each and every proposal and plan both have put out – I mean them ALL. So enjoy the debat and I betcha by golly wow, no one mentions or talks about the likelihood of the suspension of Habeas Corpus, but recant, your folk here did, just like I told yawl for the last 16 months what was gone happen to our economy, even naming banks that was gone fail before they was on the news. Ignorance and freedom is incompatible. So no post until Friday or Saturday folk - so marinate on this jones mane, fore real though, for the next stop, like the MARTA train, maybe martial law.

PS: Good look for awarding me the Black Weblog Award for best blog on politics 2009.

Yes of course you are dead on. Few understand the prison complex relationship to for-profit entities. I do...having witnessed it up close and personal last October for 29 days...but I digress.

I do believe Obama gets it. But that...or this, does not play well to the folks that VOTE! You are not taking into account what it takes to get elected. It is not about truth. It is about what can people digest in small amounts in short periods of time. The election season is not designed for the well read and the thinkers. It is designed for the ignorant and the stupid.

It is designed to be about likeability...not substance. I know how you feel. You and I have had long and deep conversations. What I think you do not take into account...or maybe you do, but the sort of folks who actually make up America are diverse and varied in thoughts and experiences. Few are well read. Few seek scholarship over pop culture.

The disconnect you are seeing is a direct result of what was taught. We (collectively Black people in America) know what struggle is. These times are not new. Somewhere deep within us we are ready and will do what needs to be done to survive.

We are a surviving people. YES many will be lost before it is all said and done...we know about that too...ie, middle passage.

Keep the faith

Hey Bro,

Excellent post. I have not checked all the links (yet), but knowing you, I am willing to bet this is all encompassing and meticulous.

I, too, have been shitting myself (at my little blog) trying to get the message out and have felt like a village idiot because no one seemed to take notice (shunned like the hunchback of Notre Dame).

Nor do I claim any psychic abilities, but it appears that every indication leads to the very point of Martial Law. The devaluation of the Dollar to near nothing by hyperinflation (and the simultaneous crash all over the world) will crash it all.

And all these bastards cashing out today will now invest it all in wheat and shit, then own us that way, too.

Of course, that is after the troops come in and take whatever shit and weapons you have.

Enjoy.

We are fucked.

Babz Rawls Ivy said...

And another thing, Obama cannot stand alone. WE have to be standing with him. We have to hold it down on the local level. We have to make sure that our concerns are raised and followed up on. Everyone wants someone else to care. We have got to step up to the plate not only to raise our voices in discourse, but in call to action.

Much needs to be done. It all happens on the local level.

OY vey...

Hell yea this is straight disgusting that all through the recent years they've been grabbing all sorts of power. Like how when you said martial law comes, the president also has 6 months of free reign in which the legislative and judicial branches cannot challenge the executive's declaration of martial law.

Martial law can also be declared for "emergencies" outside the country that may affect our economy, national defense, etc. elections can be suspended, they already rounding up political activists for nothing (video of mass arrests).

"The Justice Department assures Americans that its new legal and investigatory authority is "carefully drawn" to target only "terrorists." [56] At the same time that the Justice Department is ostensibly targeting only this "narrow class of individuals," it has greatly expanded that class of suspects through the Patriot Act. [57] Section 802 of the Act amends the criminal code, 18 U.S.C. § 2331, to add a new definition of "domestic terrorism" to include activities that:

involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;

appear to be intended --

to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;

to influence the policy of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; or

to effect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and

occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States. [58]
Likewise, section 808 of the Patriot Act amends 18 U.S.C. § 2332b to include any such acts that result in virtually any federal crime of violence. [59] Conceivably, these extensions of the definition of "terrorist" could bring within their sweep diverse domestic political groups, which have been accused of acts of intimidation or property damage such as Act Up, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Operation Rescue, and the Vieques demonstrators. [60]

Cognizant of these criticisms and fears, the Attorney General recently assured the Senate that the U.S. government's definition of terrorism has, since 1983, included as terrorists only "those who perpetrate premeditated, politically motivated violence against noncombatant targets." [61] If that is true, it certainly begs the question of why the Bush Administration felt the need to redefine "terrorism" to include a wide variety of domestic criminal acts. "

More on the Patriot Act

They alreaady got everything set up (detention camps & new domestic control weapons etc.) for the next term when the economy fails!

Man! I am so glad you are out here telling it like it is. I like your style, i like your way of saying things.

I also have been telling folks that "life as we know it is over" we just don't know it. If a boulder is rolling towards you and you don't know it yet you are still going to die when it does. White folks don't give out free houses and cars. We couldn't get it before why are they giving it to us now? But all my people asked was "can i get navigation with my new hummer? Like they had somewhere special to go.

You keep on spitting knowledge and beaming them big words and i'll keep gutterizing the english language so the folks in the Dl classes can get hip. I'll show them a booty with game all around it.

Folk you a great man and we all need to do our part because niXXas is the new marines...we gonna be the first to go. Its already shadily happening.

Thanks for the heads-up and the knowledge folk. We gone meet 1 day cause our peoples need us whether they know it or not.

Department of Justice Demands Google Search Information

"The government asked Mountain View, Calif.-based Google, which operates the world's most popular search engine, to turn over every query typed into its search engine over the course of one week without providing identifying information about the people who conducted the searches.

It also asked for a random sample of 1 million Web pages that can be searched in the vast databases maintained by Google, whose stated corporate mission is to "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."

While privacy experts said the requests appeared to have been tailored to try to protect the privacy of the millions of people who carry out searches, they said it could set a precedent for more intrusive future government demands. They also said it raised the question of just how much information Google stores about consumers."

You know good and damn well that the subject of Martial Law is not going to come up during the debate. Why would it? The MSM is already looping over time. It would be TMI and a definite overload on the senses.

I don't mean to sound like I am going off. Remember I am from a generation of black folks who know what it is like to be under siege for real by the government. Just the mention of that phrase pisses me straight off! It envokes images of the National Guard taking to the streets etc...but I digress.

In the most basic terms it is time to ride or die! For real my friend. I don't need either of the front runners to tell me that the rough days have arrived. My purse and my bills say it is so!

I did not watch the debate at all. Because in reality what I want Barack to do is bytch slap McCain and put his left to right together in that hollow head of his. But that is not conduct becoming of a POTUS candidate. It would provide me with a good laugh and it would definitely change the tenor of the debate. :-)

This situation has been a long time coming and it will be a long time before it gets straight. Meanhile there are going to be those who go completely under and flap to death like a fish out of H20. You can put your pearls out there T, and swine will respond like they do~not at all. Those folks who have ears will hear and those who have eyes will see.

The cogs and sprockets of this "ENDGAME" have been cranking for many years. It's astonishing how many people are just awakening to that reality and that many more yet to realize.
You provide a valuable service here but, on the real, if somebody getting hipped to this by coming to RAWDAWG blog they way behind the curve. And I have a problem with that. Oh well, I guess better late than never.

JONES: You know I love your work so I won't embarrass you with praise. I am, however, very pleased when great writers attack American Totalitarianist enabling laws and executive orders. And even more so when a great writer damns the Prison Industrial Complex in the USA complete with slave labor, encarceration of children with adults, and the general American punishment culture.

I'm with LOVEBABZ. I thank my luck I didn't have to go away but sleeping in a different place every night for a few months with my parents worried sick was no fun. Hour after hour after hour with my attorneys going over every bit of statute and precedent with no one knowing what to say because there were no statutes which applied directly but the case law had been written so broadly that my eating Grape Nuts for breakfast was a crime!

Nothing glamourous in that. Pure stress.

I also agree with both of you that American elections are kind of silly. Barack Obama, at least, is not a silly man. And I really enjoyed hearing him get progressive without shame in this debate. His calmness and patrician bearing never lets him down.

But that was the nice part of the debate. The bad part was -- in the wake of the "kill him" "he's an Arab" craziness -- he offended all of us down here with his ridiculous remarks about Colombia and how he was somehow more in touch and more street than Obama was. He went to Cartagena which is like Palm Beach. Once. With full US military escort including Blackhawk helicopters. Once again, he took credit for the Uribe/FARC/Chavez accord which allowed for the liberation of Ingrid Betancourt and the three CIA guys.

And once again with the suggestion that he saw Colombia as a South American Israel drove me and everybody nuts. There's lot of violence in that country but there's no way Latinos are going to kill other Latinos for John McCain's amusement. And in the real Colombia not McCain's fantasy version the people prefer Obama 94-6.

No Americans who are polite and respectful will have any trouble. "Innocents Abroad" and "Ugly Americans" would be best advised to stay home.

I went to reggaeton show tonight and every performer was free-styling Anti-McCain Anti-America Pro-Obama and the crowd was eating it up. The loathing for gringos now is palpable. I've never particularly liked being small before. Boy, I love it now. Not a chance anyone makes me for US born. Too small. Too dark a complexion. Too fluent in the local dialect. Phew!

The American tourists you see on the street are SILENT. Like their vacation is their own funeral. They feel it too.

If the government declairs martial law or suspends Habeau Corpus there is going to be alot of blood spilled in the cities, rural areas and Appalachia. This is not the Civil War so a large portion of the military will be on the side of civilians. Those 250 thousand Vietnam veterans hiding in the bushes will also support the populous. But this is just a theory, I would never be a part of this. I'm sure you understand?

you have raised many interesting thoughts; everyone should ponder this martial law and especially how it effects how we live our lives.

in the end there has to be a resolution that will fix whatever problems currently exist and will continue to exist unless fixed and trashed.

can obama fix these problems? only god knows. i believe he will try, but the system that is in place has created so much travesty already that it may be too much for him to bear. only time will tell.

@ DA VINCI THE VERBAL ARTIST:

I'm curious what you came up with when you work through the language. I tried. I also read the testimony and debate. I couldn't make head or tail of any of it, other than the broad strokes which were at rock bottom theft in broad daylight.

The problem is, I'M sure you noticed too, that everything we've learned in school and in practice gets tossed out the window or stood on its head without any regard for GAAP or the basic understanding of the principles of corporate finance that every business person in every capitalist country understands and expects to be LAW.

In re accounting: the asset side and the debt+equity side must stay in balance. In re corporate finance: the common stock holders are last in line when a bankrupt company's assets are liquidated. First in line are the Senior Corporate Debt Holders.

That was strange enough. Now, we get NATIONALIZATION of the four STRONGEST US banks plus the SEIZURE of all mortgage debt by the US government.

If it seems like I'm "talking my book" or Torrance's, I guess I am but separately and here we've been on this theme of the US government having become a STALINIST regime for a long time now.

And Republicans have the GALL to call Obama a "socialist". Jeez.

Kit (Keep It Trill) said...

Congrats on the award, Torrance!

People, this shyt is deadly serious. I've written several posts which go into great detail of the over 600 prison camps they have already, a half million coffins in Georgia, how they now have the 1st Brigade Combat Team in the US to put down civil unrest, photos, and most importantly, how and why they're doing this.

Below are only a few I've written about since this summer. Check them out these main three and others while Torrance is on break:

Urban Blacks Will Be Treated Like Insurgents

Hey, just thought I would drop by, Miriam dropped your name on this post. The military commissions act is what you gotta watch out for. Also keep in mind that you still have rights under martial law. Most people will fall under the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice) Which you have rights such as request mast and redress of grievances. Your right will be vastly different but you still have them.

The other thing is that martial law only works by a consenting people. If there is a revolt against martial law, the government has no choice but to back down, but it has to be a revolt on NATION WIDE SCALE, because you better believe peace keepers from the UN and Canada are coming in to help. Just remember U.S. military personnel will not likely draw down on fellow Americans.

This was the initial intent of having a well regulated militia and the protection of the second amendment. As many politicians will say they like to hunt, the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting... well not animals anyway. It was a means of protecting you from your government.

Just some food for thought to chew on.
