Riddle me this #8

Thought amnesty: u dont have to think today

1] Why didn’t I save the picture with common and my daughter in front of my shop, but saved the one with my girl who owns the beauty salon a few doors down?

2] Where are we getting the money from for these bailouts and the stimulus plan? Is it from we the tax payer, are we just printing it out of thin air, or are we getting it from China via debt as usual?

3] Why folks hate on me when I talk about Obama’s policy, cant they separate the policy from the man?

4] Why would we risk bankrupting out government to bail out bankrupt companies?

5] Why do we have these weekend meetings and rush these deals through on Sunday night without serious rumination, and think they will be a solution, but trip when they do not work?

6] Why do folks know more about Halie Berry, Lil Wayne, or Barack Obama than they know the constitution?

7] Why are off balance sheet assets (toxic assets) basically of an unknown value and why aint it against the law or criminal not to put all assets and losses on the balance sheets like small business owners as myself do?

8] What FOOL will invest in a company like Citigroup when you only get dividends of 1 cent per share held for 3 years (for Paulson only)?

9] What is commercial backed asset paper, if it aint money, isn’t it worthless?

10] With 20 billion of TARP funds left, will treasury go back to congress and ask for some more loot?

Just a few queries I feel average folks who think should ask unless they dumb fucks. Happy nappy THANKS-STEALING – me thankful for the white man making me a slave and killing off the Indians. Back Friday. Good Look Ms Williams for stopping by the shop while you were in town.

*smirking* Cuz we live in the Matrix. It's MEANT to be that way. Can't have "Borgs" if everybody running around and free thinking on they own? Can we?

And maybe cuz you like the lady down the street, so you saved her picture.

We are just printing it, I swear to gawd...surely there isn't a country in the world that will continue to give us billions at this point.

3]The person that ascribes to a specific policy tells you something about the individual and his beliefs.

6]Because the press doesn't enlighten folk about the constitution...only about Halle Berry, Lil Wayne and of course Obama.

7]Your guess is as good as mine Torrance..I agree that they should be counted like any other asset or debt.

8]You got me again...I have no clue.

9] Worth as determined by whom? Your idea of worth is probably different than those nimrods on Wall st.

Wall street is nothing more than legalized gambling. Anyone that tells you different is full of bat guano and part of the problem. ;)

Ummm I hope NOONE is investing in citgroup.

Smh @ #2 I've been wondering the same damn thing.

Common is sexxy

my answer to #'s 3,4,5,7,8 and 10 is the prevelance of ignorance in the vast majority of Americans. Phuk whatcha heard, ignorance ain't bliss it's costly. Speaking of costly, #2 is one heck of an enigma ain't it?

Which Obama policy causes you to have hate thrown your way?

As for Lil Wayne...I may be in the minority, but I think he is over rated, but whatever...he tricked millions into buying into his mess...

3 and 6 are true.
You are one lucky dude to have Common drop by, and I got your message when I'm in town I'll try to shoot by.

1. Well why didn't you save the picture? Could it be that you were being too many males at that particular moment?

2. Didn't you hear about the US Mint's new plan? We are going to eat paper and shyt money.

3. Because they cannot seperate policy from the individual.

4.Phuck the companies! The people who produce the goods should be the primary concern of the Feddies. Workout a plan to help them either get the hell away from the auto industry or take over the leadership of the same.

5. This is a hurry up and deliver whatever society. It can take years for the problem to grow but we really have a problem with working on a solution. Instant gratification is required-even if it is done if Fk boy style.

6. It has never been featured on BET, Entertainment Tonight, SNL, or the Tonight Show.

7. I don't know why it is not required by law. But I did learn a couple of years ago that if you are going to steal or mismanage money-do it in large sums-start with millions. No one ever seems to catch you stealing this kind of loot.

8. Why is Citigroup trying to get folks to spend their loot for a chance to spend time with Mary J?

9. I dunno. But it sounds like it should be either money or not.

10. Can a sistah like myself ask for some loot too? I want and need some citizen based assistance!

You get an online chocolate for this one!

No...most people can't separate the man from his politics...and most don't know anything about his politics...I'm just saying...

Aren't we already bankrupt? I mean, when you have a deficit the size of ours...I think that the gov't should have to let the taxpayers know where this money is coming from...

Paper notes technically aren't worth anything...pretty much like stocks are not truly worth anything...

But I on the other-hand feel that something must be done, and I don't feel that giving the money to consumers who also mismanaged their business is the key either...

Obama said that he's not concerned with the deficit at this point..

Darius T. Williams said...

Great questions...but you already know this!

1] Thats a good one perhaps you have a thing for the shop lady?

2] I am betting on china, they have been buying up our debt like crazy, it's like a mafia move were you taking up another gangsta's markers so you can have leverage.

3] Fanatics will be blind to the truth, ask Bush.

4] Because are more scared of short term strife versus long terms relief. Yes people will lose jobs in the auto industry with out a bail out but that doesnt excuse the fact that they found their way into this mess and have not offered an aceptable plan to get out. Bail out means becoming an enabler.

6] The constitution doesnt have head shots.

8] Held for three years? You kidding.

9] money is the only thing i want to see and that better be back with some gold.

10] YOU KNOW IT!

INDEED, BUDDY, INDEED:

We are going to have our say on Thursday.

This was the day that President-elect Obama nailed his colors to the mast as far as I'm concerned. All I see is a much more intelligent George W. Bush. Bush was the worst. I agree. So, how is it possible that with a landslide win and a mandate for change, Obama is continuing Bush's excellent work in completely destroying the capitalist, market-based system of self-government?

So, he's keeping Bush's high-bracket tax cuts, saying maybe, probably not to tax cuts for the working and middle class, and has declared fiscal balance and monetary neutrality to be irrelevant? For real?

And apparently he also wants to see the world blown in two. Wonderful. Bush's economic policies and McCain's foreign policies.

Bush, Paulson and Obama are in the process of destroying the modern capitalist system that was 5 centuries in the making!

KELSO'S NUTS said...

If ONLY Dennis Kucinich and/or Ron Paul had been MORE HANDSOME!!!

KELSO'S NUTS said...

1] Why didn’t I save the picture with common and my daughter in front of my shop, but saved the one with my girl who owns the beauty salon a few doors down?

BECAUSE ONE IS A RANDOM CELEB SHOT AND THE OTHER IS WITH SOMEONE IMPORTANT TO YOU.

2] Where are we getting the money from for these bailouts and the stimulus plan? Is it from we the tax payer, are we just printing it out of thin air, or are we getting it from China via debt as usual?

THE ONE PLACE IT'S NOT COMING FROM IS THE OFF-BUDGET 2-WAR ALLOCATION, DOD, AND FATHERLAND SECURITY. OTHERWISE, A COMBO. TAXPAYERS; CHINA + SAUDI ARABIA; GOOD OLD FASHIONED SEIGNORAGE

3] Why folks hate on me when I talk about Obama’s policy, cant they separate the policy from the man? AMERICA IS ABOUT IDENTITY, CELEBRITY AND THEMES. YOU DON'T FUCK WITH IDENTITY, CELEBRITY AND THEMES.

BUT TO BE FAIR, YOU GET A FAR MORE INTELLECTUAL AND QUESTIONING COMMENATARIAT THAN 99% OF OTHER BLOGS.

4] Why would we risk bankrupting out government to bail out bankrupt companies?

IN ORDER TO PERPETRATE THE GREATEST CRIME -- FINANCIAL AND VIOLENT -- IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND. AND DO IT WITH OBAMA'S ENCOURAGEMENT IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

5] Why do we have these weekend meetings and rush these deals through on Sunday night without serious rumination, and think they will be a solution, but trip when they do not work?

POLITICS IS ABOUT CAREERISM NOT POLICY. NOBODY CARES. THEY JUST ROLL THE DICE AND HOPE FOR THE BEST AND IF IT DOESN'T WORK OUT THEY SPIN IT AND FIND SOMEONE TO BLAME.

6] Why do folks know more about Halie Berry, Lil Wayne, or Barack Obama than they know the constitution?

AMERICA IS ABOUT IDENTITY, CELEBRITY AND THEMES. YOU DON'T FUCK WITH IDENTITY, CELEBRITY AND THEMES.

7] Why are off balance sheet assets (toxic assets) basically of an unknown value and why aint it against the law or criminal not to put all assets and losses on the balance sheets like small business owners as myself do?

THIS PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED BY RONALD COASE IN HIS NOBEL-PRIZE WINNING EXTERNALITIES MODEL. BUT IT WAS TOO COMPLICATED AND TOO RATIONAL AND FAIR FOR AMERICANS TO DEAL WITH.

8] What FOOL will invest in a company like Citigroup when you only get dividends of 1 cent per share held for 3 years (for Paulson only)? TO EVERY FOOLISH INSTITUTIONAL INVESTOR WHO THAT FUCKING AMWAY SALESMAN CAN BROWBEAT INTO BUYING THE EQUITIES

9] What is commercial backed asset paper, if it aint money, isn’t it worthless?

IF THE "BACKING" HAS EXCHANGE VALUE IT'S WORTH AT THE BASELINE UP TO THAT FIGURE. IF THERE'S A TWO WAY MARKET FOR IT, THEN IT'S WORTH WHEREEVER THE MARKET'S AT IN THAT MOMENT

10] With 20 billion of TARP funds left, will treasury go back to congress and ask for some more loot? WITHOUT A DOUBT

KELSO'S NUTS said...

ALTERNATIVE ANSWER TO #7) GIVEN THAT AMERICA CAN'T COPE WITH LIBERTARIAN IDEAS OF PERSONAL FREEDOM, CONTRACT RIGHTS, PROPERTY RIGHTS, AND FUNGIBILITY OF ASSETS BETWEEN TWO WILLING PARTIES, TOSS OUT THE COASE MODEL. HE'S ENGLISH ANYWAY.

INSTEAD, IT'S THE REASON YOU ARE A LIBERTARIAN. IN YOUR SOCIETY THE INSTITUTION MAKES THE RULES BUT IS FREE TO EXEMPT ITSELF WHILE THE INDIVIDUAL IS ALWAYS AT THE INSTITUION'S MERCY

James Tubman said...

this country is being taken over by the south east asians (japan, china, taiwan, south kores etc.)

this century is what many businesspeople and others dubbed the asian century a long time ago in the 80's

this country is turning into a third world nation and there is really nothing we can do about it

black people better wake up before we get left behind

KELSO'S NUTS said...

@ JAMES TUBMAN: The pan-East Asian world is not a threat to the USA. CHINA is because the USA allowed them to become for lack of a better word the "pimp" in this relationship. The Japanese, Taiwanese, South Koreans, and slowly the Vietnamese are more at the level that Europe and Latin America are.

During the recession of the late-80s and early 90s when the US was suffering and the Japanese were flying, there was all this talk about how American industry should emulate Japanese manufacturing, operations, and labor relations styles, but it turned out to be a crock and merely a normal up business cycle for them and a down business cycle for you. Normalized for outside factors, the return to the unit of labor and capital in the US has always been superior to Japan.

Look what happened to Japan from 1992 onwards. It just so happened that the Bush era in the US exacerbated the US downtrend to such an extent that Japan ipso facto is stronger because their financial systems are.

The US is indeed turning into a third world nation because it's neglecting all the best lessons of many different schools of economic thought from the Marxist dialectic to Keynesian and neo-Keynsian fiscal smoothing process to the Fisherite concept of neutral and sound money to some of the labor power and growth theoridsts like Tobin and Okun to the libertarian free-market and market-incentivization ideas (the better ones -- not the total deregulation and fuck everyone "idea").

The US has abandoned the synthesis of all that scholarship into a modern capitalism backed by a democratic self-governmental philosophy that's practiced in every other "Western" nation. They've abandoned it in favor of a Theocratic Authoritarian warrior, police and confiscatory society which fakes at being a capitalist democracy and in the process have sold themselves to the rest of the world so the bosses could kill abroad and at home and could steal everything that wasn't nailed down.

It's not a pretty picture, I know. But as a Black man, you should heed my words as a Jewish man. Your civilization is under attack in America (as if you didn't know that!) as ours was in various parts of Europe. But what Black people in America have that Jewish people in Europe had are a few advantages (1) tradition (2) scholarship (3) having already known the worst (4) competitive drive

I know Torrance gets cranky that there's not enough intellectualism in Black America, but believe me, Black America is far more intellectual than the plurality culture of the Southern Baptist White America. It's not even close.

I guess it takes someone like me who has lived and was educated in America but no longer lives there and never oriented as American to observe this. I don't think that enjoying pop culture is that bad.

Don't want to write for him, but i suppose Torrance's point is that pop culture has its place in a whole life as a hobby or relaxation but your work and your mind and your scholarship and especially your family are way more important.

#1 Because you get tired of us all saying how absolutely adorable your little girl is??? :)

#2 Apparently no one has noticed their Monopoly money is missing from their games...go check, folks..it's GONE! ;)

#4 Because higher-ups in the Bush regime need a job after he's out of office. ;)

#6 Because the way our Constitution has been stepped on, twisted around, then shredded to bits and pieces over the past 8 GWB years has folks thinking it doesn't mean much anymore, and that "celebs" have more relevance. (Sad, but true.)

I enjoy not only ruminating on the thoughts you put forth, Torrance, but those by your readers as well...just something I'm thankful for this holiday. Hope everyone has a Happy (Tofurkey ;)) Thanksgiving!
