bad 4 ya health

I am starting to figure out the grand master scheme of the west, of the historical pedagogy of the liberal arts and all the associated nonsense that make them folk click. Honestly, I used to think it was an old school thing, you know sons and daughters of the confederacy and the economic plutocracy of the status quo, but now I am startin' too recognize it, our problems are much more and not improving but moreso getting worse. True, it is going on only 40 years since African Americans have had the right to vote. But voting, what does it really accomplish in a republic? I would answer nothing, just like a baby with a pacifier in its mouth.

This is why nothing surprises me. Nothing. The computer chip maker Intel has just apologized for a print add it ran in several major news papers. It was supposed to be advertising new breed of micro-processors but it do so with old world zeal and fatuousness. The quote was "Multiply computer performance and maximize the power of your employees." The only problem was that it had one white man in the middle of the isle between six cut brothers poising as if they bout to start a race.

Now me and the feeble tequila drinking mind that I tote concluded: 1] white micro-processors must be slowa da a mutha fuka and 2] these saltines and woods still look at us as if we live stock. Maybe that’s why I had the beef with the Morehouse school of medicine. Not only am I not a fuck boy, Nat Turner wont allow kool-aid ruining through the veins and arteries. Some time I wish I was a bitchy type nigga – I mean negro, then I could just open my butt cheeks, hide the Vaseline and say “you called Masta”. I think that’s what my dean in the school of community health and preventive medicine wanted me to do. But i'm suspended with pay, lounging and reading about 10 newspapers a day – what more could your fol ask for (and yes, steak and eggs was the breakfast for the morning).

Intel did release a statement on its website: "We made a bad mistake. I know why and how, but that simply doesn't make it better." It was intended that the advertisement "convey the performance capabilities of our processors through a number of visual metaphors,"

The entire PR had me rolling, and also managed to fill my hemoglobin with vehemence. And just think, them mutha fukas made $8.7 billion the last quarter. But I guess they see white micro – processors, like all else white, salt, rice, sugar and glue – is bad for folk health.

It doesn't surprise me either. Do you know that my very white history professor, had the balls to say that slavery wasn't that bad and it was greatly exaggerated. That "masta" actually loved his slaves b/c they were his property. "masta" cherished his slaves. We had a good debate about that a couple of weeks back. Intel knew what they were doing they just didn't think we would know.

he had an interesting theory that Nat Turner only started that revolt because he didn't understand the western way of life. What? Where was Nat born Mr. professor? Here in the good ole U.S.A. Maybe he was tired of being someone else's property? Maybe he just knew that slavery ish wasn't right. Maybe he knew that he was a damn MAN being treated like an animal.

Of course they knew what they were doing. It's not like they had a marketing intern come up with that ad. A major advertising agency or the in-house advertising department came up with that. Either way, it was signed off by Intel Management and all of the symbolism was surely not missed by "Massa and N'em".

But check it -- what's the worse that could happen to them? Intel isn't getting paid because the African American community is buying tons of computers with their microprocessers. The paper/magazine you found that ad in signed off on the ad as well. There is no way an ad gets printed to be viewed by millions without it passing the in house litmus test. So my point is that, for the most part these companies figure they can say what they want. Unless Dell, HP, Gateway, Toshiba, Sony and the other companies that buy their microprocessers complain, it's basically going to be business as usual, because who cares if the feathers of a few black folk get ruffled. At least that is what their actions convey.

Hey you know what they say, ignorance is bliss and it goes great with kool-aid…

You know I’m starting to turn into one of those people who feels it is pointless to vote. I need some inspiration…

Andrew Goodman

"...it is true that the white man (and by this I mean Christian civilization in general) has proved himself to be the most depraved devil imaginable in his attitudes towards the Negro race....The source and cause of this need for reaction can be attributed to white contempt and neglect. The historical contempt that the white race held for the Negroes has created a group of rootless degraded people. The current neglect of the problem can only irritate this deplorable state of affairs. The Black People should constitute a warning to our society, a warning that must be heeded if we are to preserve the society. The road to freedom must be uphill, even if it is arduous and frustrating. A people must have dignity and identity. If they can't do it peacefully, they will do it defensively."

THE PROBLEMS OF the world are so colossal, so very complex, that to understand and to resolve them one must approach them in a very simple and direct manner; and simplicity, directness, do not depend on outward circumstances nor on our particular prejudices and moods. As I was pointing out, the solution is not to be found through conferences, blueprints, or through the substitution of new leaders for old, and so on, The solution obviously lies in the creator of that problem, in the creator of the mischief, of the hate and of the enormous misunderstanding that exists between human beings, The creator of this mischief, the creator of these problems, is the individual, you and I, not the world as we think of it. The world is your relationship with another. The world is not something separate from you and me; the world, society, is the relationship that we establish or seek to establish between each other.

So you and I are the problem, and not the world, because the world is the projection of ourselves and to understand the world we must understand ourselves. That world is not separate from us; we are the world, and our problems are the world's problems. This cannot be repeated too often, because we are so sluggish in our mentality that we think the world's problems are not our business, that they have to be resolved by the United Nations or by substituting new leaders for the old. It is a very dull mentality that thinks like that, because we are responsible for this frightful misery and confusion in the world, this ever-impending war. To transform the world, we must begin with ourselves; and what is important in beginning with ourselves is the intention. The intention must be to understand ourselves and not to leave it to others to transform themselves or to bring about a modified change through revolution, either of the left or of the right. It is important to understand that this is our responsibility, yours and mine; because, however small may be the world we live in, if we can transform ourselves, bring about a radically different point of view in our daily existence, then perhaps we shall affect the world at large, the extended relationship with others.

To find these true values which will bring about a radical revolution, a transformation or a regeneration, it is essential to understand oneself. Self-knowledge is the beginning of wisdom, and therefore the beginning of transformation or regeneration.

To understand oneself there must be the intention to understand - and that is where our difficulty comes in. Although most of us are discontented, we desire to bring about a sudden change, our discontent is canalized merely to achieve a certain result; being discontented, we either seek a different job or merely succumb to environment. Discontent, instead of setting us aflame, causing us to question life, the whole process of existence, is canalized, and thereby we become mediocre, losing that drive, that intensity to find out the whole significance of existence. Therefore it is important to discover these things for ourselves, because self-knowledge cannot be given to us by another, it is not to be found through any book. We must discover, and to discover there must be the intention, the search, the inquiry. So long as that intention to find out, to inquire deeply, is weak or does not exist, mere assertion or a casual wish to find out about oneself is of very little significance.

Myths should be understood as scientific knowledge written in symbolic language to convey (and sometimes conceal) truth at many levels. Myths are truer than facts because they address historical, astrological, biological, psychological and initiatory truths and processes simultaneously. It is said that "when the student is ready the teacher will appear." In other words, myths and symbols reveal themselves to the student (initiate) according to his or her level of preparedness.

So I say to you, Raw Dawg..... I applaud your insightfull appraoch at awakening the deadened minds of the majority! I will always say that one cannot move very far until one moves inward with one's self! Knowledge of self is key! Once we have understanding of out ouwn patterns of action and reaction, we can see the extrodinary implications suggested in the effect that two people in relationship have in society. No healthy flower can come from an unhealthy plant. Our very relationship with our enemy is also important, we must use our wisdom and awareness to elevate a people. Just as the enemy used their wisdom of awareness to opress!

Keep up the good research and work you bring!

One Love,
D

LOVED It :)

As far as the photo, I am slow when it comes to things like this. What is it supposed to mean? The black men are bowing down to the white man in the photo? Sorry, I'm confused.

The fact that this mentality still goes on today (but what do you expect from corporate america) is scary enough, but what scares me even more...I KNOW there had to be a "token" black somewhere in all of this; Intel, marketing, publishing...is he up in the main house kissin massa's ass and staying quiet...or did he start a revolt when he saw this fuckery and get sent back to the slave quarters?
