what says u

Point of order: Didnt want to post any of the five essays I wrote yesterday, maybe one day. Shout out to my folk Husla3x who wrote this post on your folk. And The Villiager who said i was #25 of Black blogs (when I thought I was a blogger).

1] what do u think my five best blog post have been? Mine are:

live free or die
a diamond treated like glass
thank we free
Sticks & stones
A good day to die

Honorable mention: outside the box, age of the fck boy, Leg Blocking, the name game, we turned 2yesterday,4getting what real folk go through, a penchant 4 commitment, female dog gluteus maximus negro
2] I did this test I found at Miz and Ticia sites. Supposedly its what Torrance means. What says u?

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

  1. I like a lot of them, obviously, or I wouldn't keep coming back! But I have to go with "a diamond treated like glass." That one was so full of love and respect for the women who raised you, and for your own children. It spoke volumes about how you got to be who you are today. It was as lovely a tribute as I have ever read. I really loved that one.

  2. I'm going to agree with Jaded. That post was beautiful!

And, I totally agree with the meaning of your name (even though those things are just for fun) it's you.

  3. I love them all. How could I not. It would be like saying which flower is prettier...they all are all pretty. It would be like saying which child do I love more...I love them all.

Just like I have no favorite color, I love all colors. Your posts are like that of the rainbow. Each has it's own place in my heart and mind. Each one speaks to me in a different way, but that is not better than or less than the next post.

I love the way you write and anything you pen is beautiful to me. You have a fine mind and I like a fine mind.

Just continue to be true to your pen...you will always have a fan in me.

  5. Well I don't think these were your best ones but more so my favorites.
The one about Webbie being a fck boy (I'm still picturing you calling the radio station, lol), Dear Mr. Crackerfied, the one about "newtons law" and yum yum eatum up. They made me smile, you know I like to laugh, lol...

  6. I forgot to mention the "where are the corretta's?" blog...hmmmm, though I think you should make a "Where are the Martin's?" for the ladies, lol, jmo...

  7. I didn't know you have been blogging since 2005, wow that's a looong time. I've enjoyed all the blogs of yours I read, I learn something new each time.

  8. Not outside the box? Hell, I painted my box with the brightest colors I could find, added glitter and rhinestones and put it across the room!

You asked what we liked. I like when you're talking about those you love because that tells most about who you are. You might get different answers if you ask what posts we did NOT like.

  9. Out of the ones listed, I'd say "Thank we Free" is the most inspiring of the posts. It awakens the mind and reminds of the truth. I've passed it on many times. Peace! CordieB.

  10. see my name meanings on Miz's blog. SistaGP was a match to who I am better than my birth name. Go figure!

It is hard to say which posts have been your best, but here are a few of my faves.
a diamond treated like glass a dedication to my adoptive granny

Oh love your name too :)
Can't wait to go through your archives :)

  15. I like all of the posts that I have read. If I have to select one, a good day to die would be it.

I read your name definition. I can see you in that light. I visited the sight and did my name. I have to admit that it was on point about my personality type.

I will have baby pics soon.

  16. Although I am a fairly new reader on your blog, I'm still not sure I could pick just 5. I thoroughly enjoy just about everything you write! ESPECIALLY those things that may not have been in posts, but were available for my reading pleasure :)

By the way, how well do you think your description fits you? As far as I can see based on how much I know about you through what you write, it seems fairly accurate!

  17. All of your blogs are insightful in some way. I can't narrow it down, but i definitely get my daily dose of RAWness.

    ReplyDelete
  18. wait...A penchant for commitment was real insightful. I love expressive pieces like that, that show the inner desires displayed in blog form...unscripted.

  22. Amiguitos, quasopla?

Here's my result using my real first name.

"You are full of energy. You are spirited and boisterous.
You are bold and daring. You are willing to do some pretty outrageous things.
Your high energy sometimes gets you in trouble. You can have a pretty bad temper at times.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!"

It is ALL TRUE, but I know how the trick is done. It's done the same way as an internet card trick with 4 Jacks. I'm sure you've seen the card trick. That's my only clue. If you can find and figure out the card trick you can figure out the NAME trick.

I'm not going to spoil anyone's fun because it works for everybody and is pretty cool.

  23. Oh, sorry, Torrance. I'm not going to pick a favorite. There are too many criteria to do an accurate job.

I'll say this,, though. The top 25Black Blogger thing is bullshit. Among one-man bands of all colors, you pretty much have to be #1. I can't think of 4 who can even play you to a tie.

  24. Hey RawDawg! I left a comment to you in response to your comment at my blog. I figured I should migrate it over here...

@RawDawg: Yo, hon. Right now, you're the epitome. I can't get enough reading about your dog store. I owned a small business (one woman team) years ago. Desktop publishing and design. That must have been about 12 years ago. Now I punch a clock and I hate it. I know what I'm made of, but two sons keep me grounded in the known and afraid to risk them for the unknown. God bless you.

  28. Well there are so many favorites, but for me I would have to say the...A penchant for committment and the sticks and stones blogs were my favorite also newton's law and the name game one....all that you write is sheer brilliance so its hard to just pick out a few, you have so many readers for a reason, I would say the quiz you took is right on the money..from what I know about you so far.....Keep Blogging!

  29. I checked out Husla3X, I enjoyed reading his blog and that was a very good post he wrote about you, there's no limits to inspiration...oh wow.

As far as your blog: Each one has honestly been very informative, entertaining and excellent, not sure I could narrow it down, but I did enjoy "Stick and Stones", how you laid everything out there, you are extremely open and honest, I'm sure people can relate, Lord forbid anyone cut me or lost an expensive gift, not sure how I'd react.

A "Good Day Die" Teaches me, you always have to be ready, give your loved ones AS MUCH love as possible and be a good person, always at peace with God, because you never know.

I checked Miz, What does your name mean, it my name was REALLY accurate, I shared it with my family and friends, it was cool.

  30. 'Thank We Are Free' was one that I really got into; it said a lot about the state of our people and how of us really do feel we are free based on the things that we do and accomplish. At the end of the day, we are still pretty much owned by someone.

As far as your assessment goes, I can not really agree or disagree with it because I do not know you personally. If only I were around you enough, then I could nod my head to it.

  31. OK, I just spent a ton of time and read all of those and more, and I'm going with A good day to die. But I also love the tribute to your grandma.

As far as your description that went along with your name goes, that's sorta how I had imagined you to be. Complexity and versatility are some pretty desireable characteristics.

And no, I didn't know you lived in Ethiopia. I'd like to know all about it. I loved Ethiopia, can't wait to go back someday.

  32. And I just left you a response to the comment over at my place. OK, I'm out of here. Luego, Stacy

  33. I know it was a sex post, that's why I liked it, lol, I just couldn't remember the exact name but I remember you referenced Newton. But I figured it out, Basic Thrust Equation!

  34. For me, a tie between "a diamond treated like glass" and "thank we free". In those posts, you talk about the things that most matter to me, love and the advancement of our people.

I took the test too, came back almost identical to yours.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm going to have to do this too - I've seen like 10 other bloggers do this...I guess I'm gonna have to check it out to see if I'm a seeker or not.

    I mean....I was left speechless.

  39. I've been reading you since you began, so it's really hard for me to pick one...because most of my favorites are also in the book. Congrats on the #25 rating, you deserve it!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would never admit that my favorites include Basic Thrust Equation, Yum Yum Eatum Up or Leg Blocking. So instead I'll go with Diamond Treated Like Glass. My granny liked that one too. I printed it so she could read it.
