he hate me (#500)

This is my 500th post. So Thought amnesty. u dont have to think - let me entertain u.

Just tell me what u like or dislike about my blog and most memorable post - i think its the people blog, and what the heck, ask me what u want - i may or may not answer. Good day. see u thursday. And excuse the comment below, its for my folks No Slappz regarding the prior post.

Now slappz
McCain believes in enforce existing financial market regulations and not enacting new ones. The there is McCain’s record and involvement in the Keating five - the last big collapse of US financial institutions, that cost taxpayers over $200 billion (in today’s dollars.)

And what is the evidence that it is self correcting? And that is my point, if I don’t like your rating, I can pay someone whose rating I like. THE MBSs were never solid securities, im certain u can agree on that C+ if that.

“Keating used Senator McCain to lobby the Reagan administration successfully to appoint not only Lee Henkel (who then served as Keating’s “mole” on the FHLBB until I blew the whistle on him), but also another individual chosen by Keating. The FHLBB was run by three presidential appointees, so this would have given Keating majority control over the agency regulating S&Ls. The Reagan administration was set to make these recess appointments over the objections of the White House director of personnel, who opposed the appointments because when he called Arizona Republicans to vet the proposed appointments he learned that Keating “had a reputation for buying politicians.”

The only Fallacy of Composition I have observed is malignant McCain saying the fundamentals of our economy are strong yesterday in FL.

McCain promised to ``replace the outdated, patchwork quilt of regulatory oversight.'' During his 26-year career in Congress, McCain has supported proposals to cut, not increase, federal financial regulations.

In 1999, McCain voted in favor of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley banking deregulation act that let commercial banks and investment firms merge for the first time since the Great Depression. And, while he supported the Bush administration's takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, McCain says he wants to sell the mortgage finance companies to private buyers.

And it is true, where did JP Morgan get the loot – US tax payers. Y do I say this? Because JPMorgan Chase and the federal governmentt teamed up on the bailout of Bear Stearns, a last-ditch move to save the investment bank. It calmed the market for a few – but such intervention aint SELF CORRECTING JONES.

The FEDS lent (is that a word) JPMorgan $29 billion as an enticement to buy the troubled Bear and its liabilities. As collateral, JPMorgan put u[p $30 billion worth of WORTHLESS mortgage-backed securities and other complex investments, which are basically the most problematic assets on Bear's books. JPMorgan has to repay the Fed loan with interest at the "discount rate," which is currently 2.5 percent.

The risk to the Fed—and to taxpayers—is IF these MBS turn out to b completely worthless, then the Fed would be out the whole $29 billion. Under the terms of the deal, JPMorgan would pony up the first $1 billion in losses.

And about Mr. Chairman Bernanke: He defended this shit, and in April this year folk said "Given the exceptional pressures on the global economy and financial system, the damage caused by a default by Bear Stearns could have been severe and extremely difficult to contain," that is what he told the Senate Banking Committee.

I would go on and wont even touch Cox because he was being considered. Tell me if I am wrong jones? vote

Sometimes to the point of your intellect going over my head like "huh". But I love being challenged so dont stop. I like when you get personal and let us in on who raw dawg really is. What makes him tick? I still don't really know who you are as a person.

Sorry it took so long to post. For whatever reason your blog wouldnt fully load for me for days.

You keep the blogosphere interesting. Your insight is on point and an eye opener. I want to thank you for putting out Raw Dawg Dictionary. Often, I would read and go "huh". But I have a better understanding now with what you are saying in terms of you're use of lingo.

Keep doing what you do. Congratulations on your 500th Post.

wow folk 500?? That's alright! I can't say what my favorite post has been but I do always like reading your perspective and thinking outside the box. You are very entertaining and intelligent, yet your grammar is atrocious! You tell the truth even when others are outraged. You are yourself. Keep doing what you do.

Congrats on 500 posts!!

T, way to expose the silly belief that the economic is in the throws of a "self correction." Self correction lends to the idea that the system is a naturally flowing entity, similar to an undamned uncontroled river. Yet, in fact, the monetary system has been and will continue to be a manipulated river, played like a puppet at the whims of its masters. And the "true" masters never lose or feel pain during theser false corrections they continually gain. Congrats on the 500th post!

Congrats on post # 500 RDB.

As far as the whole controversy goes, the government goes, they shouldn't be bailing out the companies that caused this depression. They should be making sure that the people can survive. But of course we are talking about the government. Capitalism at it's finest.

Lina said...

Congrats on your 500th...thats cool. I like the informativeness of your blog...it makes me think and I love nothing better than thinking. Speaking of which...its funny how back in the day (Im talking wayyy back) the government was attempting to keep JP Morgan from holding on to its monopoly and now they are paying it to develop a monopoly.

Congratulations! Haven't been aware of you long but have taken time to read up on some of your post and papers. I find most all of it interesting. As a mom by choice I love the babies, everybody's! So it comes as no surprise that I have more fondness for the post that are primarily about them. I always say - we aren't as passionate about these babies as we should be!
I actually came back to you this am to get at no slappz some more but I see you took care of that. Wanted to point out how capitalism by design is predatory, rapacious! Since the Reagan era we've been hearing how 'big government' is so terrible. Big government being code word for regulation. As governmental regulation has eroded we find ourselves at this juncture. "Armegeddon been in effect, better get a late pass".
I've been able to hang with you but you got me when you translated that nut Kelso's game.

Dislike: viewing your blog from my blackberry is a little tricky. thank goodness for an unlimited data plan, LOL.

Questions: you had to know these would show up again

How did you get the name Raw Dawg Buffalo?
How did you get the name All-Mi-T?
If I cash in a life insurance policy, what is the best venue to invest it?
At what age would you allow your lil' princess to start dating, without you being there?
How long have you been growing your dreds?
How many women have you wanted but could/can not get, for varying reasons?
Does the Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008 make sense? If a lender would reduce the principle of a loan in order to get it insured by FHA, why won't they do it anyway without FHA restrictions.
How can the Neighborhood Stabilization bill be beneficial if there is lack of employment for those who would purchase the rehab'ed houses?
What is your muse for writing?
How can a trojan infect a PC via a YouTube video?
How difficult is it for you to decipher your own typing?

Congratulations on the 500th post Raw Dawg! You are an amazing blogger. I love that you tell it like it is, and you give a little bit of everything. You talk about the news, society, politics, culture, etc. Don't change anything- keep doing what you do!

I am still shocked about the stock market yesterday. Somebody better get things right, and I don't want more of the same in Washington. This economy and mortgage crisis is getting way out of hand.

congrats on #500. i don't think i can count that high.

don't take anything that no slappz says about economics seriously. i saw his original "response" and just had to laugh. he'll pull shite out of his arse to justify a preconceived political point. kind of like john mccain.

let's not forget that phil gramm of glb act fame (also known as the "let's allow citigroup and travelers to merge bill) is mccain's main economic advisor.

i'm glad you've taken the initiative in writing about mbs and such. i've written about such things for a living and its tough to get people interested -- unless there's a systemic collapse, as we're seeing now.

here's to the next rdb 500, which kind of sounds like a nascar race, if you think about it.

FELICITACIONES, TORRANCE!

I used to have that picture of Rod Smart up on the wall of my home office in NYC.

For some reason, my version of IE is having trouble holding on to your page because of your latest widget. I'll either continue to complain or download firefox!

So, I only caught part of No_slappz's comment, but I got the gist of it. The Republicans can do no wrong. All ill is the fault of the Democrats and those dark of complexion and African of feature.

I don't want to go over his shit point by point anyway. As you say, it's like telling a guy with a bum knee not to limp.

There actually is value, though, in OUR discussion of these bailout issues.

I can't discuss Bear Stearns because Ace's son is one of my best friends. Anything I'd write would be colored by my feelings for Ted. I'd look for excuses and the family's feelings would be foremost in my mind.

I am happy to discuss AIG and MERRILL, though, especially in the context of gov't aid of those institutions and lack thereof of sub-prime borrowers.

Let's start with sub-prime loans, redlining, Hurricane Katrina, variance, Hillary Clinton and some other touchy subjects.

The problem with mortages for individuals is that for 99% of mortgage holders their home is a disproportionate piece of their net worth and it isn't close. Thus, the average homeowner is over a barrel. Someone who wouldn't be able to put $5000 away each year in a SPDR fund or a AAA bond, is stuck with a WAGER of over $300,000 on his or her home.

I wrote to you before that Jesus saves, Moses invests, and God diversifies. Well, apparently the problem of homeownership is that Man cannot and can never DIVERSIFY. Man is stuck long US interest rates and the US housing sector for his lungs. Without being able to diversify, the volatility that even somebody with no risk tolerance at all faces is enormous. Add in the new PERSONAL bankruptcy laws and the volatility that the average American homeowner faces would be terrifying to that faced by the biggest action junkie in the world in sports-betting or asset and liability trading.

And red-lined sub-prime holders we're victims of fraud in a huge proportion of cases and just assigned an unfairly high cost-of-capital in every other case.

So, of course, it's galling when MerrillLynch either directly or indirectly is bailed out after having abandoned its core competency in retail equity sales in favor of naked, leveraged prop gambles on the CDO market which they were not intellectually or culturally as a corporation prepared to deal with. Just dumb, late and greedy. Yet, bailed out by tax-payer money coming from the same people who on a relative basis got hurt way more than Merrill did.

Look, I just made a very large bet on Obama laying -1.25/$, but no one can convince me that back in February when Obama was playing Chauncey Gardner and partying with Rick Warren and Pat Robertson, Hillary Clinton PROPOSED a deal which treated the red-lined homeowner and the beneficial lender fairly in the work-out.

Slappz is a racist jackass. The problem is that merely in writing with the degree of care, honesty and specifity I have, I am probably regarded if not as a racist jackass, at least as "a 'Wall Street' speculator (I AM ONE!) whose own personal greed and membership in an -- um --'international' banking conspiracy is just as bad."

It's worth it if I can join Torrance in coming up with some ideas TO USE MARKETS AND A CORPORATIST STRUCTURE TO REDUCE RED-LINED BORROWERS' VOLATILITY GOING FORWARD.

One idea off the bat would be a pooling of assets into an LLC or LLP to allow previously red-lined potential borrowers a better cost-of-capital as a "real estate investment business" and a legal evasion of the strict (and racist) Bush bankruptcy laws at the same time.

Or you can think of me as just a rich indifferent "elitist" Clintonista.

I'm cherry either way. LOL.
